This is a custom Designed & Built stair guard & handrail system that was part of a larger renovation project and an excellent example of how our architecture and fab shop can work in tandem to extend design possibilities. This Design & Build railing system became an important central element in the space, anchoring the open plan with it’s solid “grounded” feel. Railing components are all fabricated from ½” solid steel flat bar and laser cut plates. Guardrail horizontal rails are mortised though the vertical supports with the end joints slot welded and ground flush, minimizing welds. Finished with a brushed on low voc clear acrylic industrial finish to protect and celebrate the handmade feel of these pieces.
