Peter Nylen
Peter has long worked at the intersection of drawing and making. Exposure to his father’s landscape architecture firm gave him an early taste of the drafting room. His education at Cooper Union encouraged the development of craft in support of an idea. His experience as a carpenter, stone mason and general contractor while completing his architecture degree gave him a feel for the texture and weight of materials. Since coming to Portland in 1992, Peter has worked for Telesis Architecture, Richard Garfield architect, Mic Johnson architect, designed, built and exhibited furniture, has been a guest juror at Portland State University and the University of Oregon Departments of Architecture, Co-founded the design studios RIGGA Art & Architecture and NE Works partnership, and is now a proud member of rhiza Architecture + Design.
